Commanders' Improved Receivers Disrespected in Latest Ranking

The Washington Commanders were in the bottom half of the league this past season in passing yards, so they went out and traded for star San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel.

But some still do not believe in the team's weapons for some reason.

In a recent article by PFF's Trevor Sikkema, he ranks every NFL team's wide receiver corps going into the 2025 season. Outside of the top 10, he has the Commanders at No. 12, which is a ranking they will be looking to prove wrong.

"Terry McLaurin leads the league with 89 contested catches since 2020, and his 1.31 PFF WAR over the past three seasons ranks seventh among wide receivers," Sikkema wrote. "The Commanders traded for Deebo Samuel, who is poised for a bounce-back season with a change of scenery. Noah Brown, Zach Ertz and Austin Ekeler all recorded receiving grades above 70.0 last season and are back for 2025."

With all of these positive things to say, you would think that PFF would rank Washington at least in the top 10.

McLaurin had one of, if not the best season of his career in his first year with Jayden Daniels throwing him the ball. He finished with double-digit touchdowns for the first time in his career, which has to mean something.

Adding Samuel is a huge addition for the Commanders, and they will be looking to use their stacked wide receiver corps to compete with the likes of the Philadelphia Eagles in the crowded NFC East.
