Commanders insider eases panic after Noah Brown scare with update fans wanted

There was one concerning element to emerge at the Washington Commanders' annual mandatory minicamp. This centered on wide receiver Noah Brown, who was carted off with an undisclosed injury that was concerning enough to get an MRI.

Information on the official prognosis hasn't been confirmed by the Commanders as yet. However, one team insider would be surprised if the news was anything too serious.

Brown let out a frustrating scream on his way to the team facility after going down after making a catch. Head coach Dan Quinn wasn't going to speculate, declaring that more information was needed on the potential complication. We're still a few weeks from training camp, so the Commanders don't need to announce anything yet. For fans, it's a waiting game.

Commanders insider doesn't believe Noah Brown's injury is anything serious

John Keim from ESPN looked to alleviate fears during his latest podcast. The respected insider revealed that he gets the sense Brown's injury isn't too serious, which would be the best possible outcome for Washington's offense as it looks to take another leap forward in 2025.

Brown got a one-year deal to stay with the club this offseason despite missing their postseason run with a significant internal issue that needed kidney surgery to resolve. He deserves a little bit of luck. If Keim's thoughts are accurate, the former seventh-round pick out of Ohio State got it.

The physically imposing pass-catcher is expected to play an important role once again in 2025. Washington added Deebo Samuel Sr., Michael Gallup, and Jaylin Lane to the wideout options available, but Brown offers something different. His ability to stretch the field and work his body positioning to accumulate defensive pass interference penalties isn't a bad tool to call upon. Losing this would be a blow.

It'll be interesting to see if Brown can take the field when training camp begins. He's got some time to rest from whatever is bothering him, and the Commanders will be on hand to assist every step of the way if needed. The end goal is to have him ready for Week 1 against the New York Giants. There's nothing to suggest this cannot be completed.

Of course, there's just no telling for sure until the Commanders reveal more information. But if someone as closely connected to the team as Keim believes the injury problem isn't major, that carries a ton of weight.

It's all hands on deck for the Commanders as they look to build on a monumental first campaign under Quinn's leadership. If Brown's scare turns out to be only that, the better Washington's hopes of reaching the Super Bowl will be.
