Commanders' Jayden Daniels Offers Deebo Samuel Scouting Report

The Washington Commanders' offense last season was one of the better units in football, with Terry McLaurin as the lone key passing option.

McLaurin had over 400 more yards, 16 more receptions, and 26 more targets than the next-best offensive option. He needed help.

General manager Adam Peters then swung a trade for San Francisco 49ers receiver Deebo Samuel this offseason to give Terry some help, and quarterback Jayden Daniels another weapon.

That makes the offense far more difficult to game plan against, and for Daniels, he's ready to get to work with the All-Pro receiver.

“Obviously Deebo’s a very versatile player,” Daniels said via Yahoo Sports. “He's a playmaker once you get the ball in your hand. After the catch, he does what he does. So just being able to acquire a guy like that, I'm super excited to continue to work with him.

“And we'll go from there.”

Exactly how offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury will utilize Deebo is unknown, but his ability to be devastating as a receiver and a runner is well-documented throughout his career.

We feel safe in saying that Kingsbury will be dialing up the players to best utilize Deebo in a variety of ways that give the offense the best chance at scoring points.

McLaurin and Samuel are a decent duo for a second-year quarterback to be throwing to, and after Daniels' success last season with a limited receiver group, naturally, more will be expected in Year 2.

Deebo is likely to be the reason the Commanders' offense maintains its status as one of the better units in football, oh, and Jayden too.
