Commanders' Josh Conerly Living The 'Dream' At Training Camp

Washington Commanders' training camp is underway as Dan Quinn's team begins the long road to the start of the regular season.

For rookies, it can be quite an overwhelming portion of the offseason program with the things learned at OTAs and minicamp, now having to be put into practice.

Of course, that can be a little tricky with so much information being thrown at the rookies and the fact that they have to retain it and then show the coaching staff they understand it, it's a crucial time in the offseason.

But for rookie Josh Conerly Jr., he's simply loving being out on the grass.

"Lining up against anybody in the NFL is a dream come true for me," Conerly said. "It's something I always worked for and just try to make the most of any opportunity."

Tasked with being part of an offensive line group to protect Jayden Daniels, who was sacked 47 times last season, Conerly Jr. will be learning from one of the best in Laremy Tunsil, who the Commanders acquired via trade this offseason.

While it will be a slow process, and Josh will have to bide his time to get snaps, the youthful exuberance is clear to see; he just loves football. But make no mistake about it, the Commanders will be calling on him at some point in 2025.

And it will be the things learned here at training camp that will build the foundation for what he hopes will be a successful season.

Conerly Jr. is living the dream, but putting in the work during training camp will ensure that it doesn't turn into a nightmare.
