Commanders Predicted to Trade Terry McLaurin to AFC Team After Recent Update
© Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL season won't be starting until early August, but with the amount of drama filling the league, a lot can happen between now and then.

Word has spread that Commanders' wide receiver Terry McLaurin isn't happy with his current contract situation in Washington.

It's been seen that the veteran receiver has been sitting out of the team's OTAs and could be on the verge of missing mandatory mini-camp next week.

"Terry McLaurin has grown frustrated with the team over the lack of progress on a long-term contract extension... McLaurin is in the final year of his deal and recently left voluntary workouts," Jordan Schultz and Ari Meirov reported.

With the two sides at a stalemate in the Commanders organization, there's a possibility that nothing gets done between the sides and McLaurin may or may not be getting sent out of Washington.

Mock trade has Pittsburgh Steelers getting Terry McLaurin in sign-and-trade deal

Social media has seen this news, and there's an AFC North team that shipped out one of their best receivers and could be interested in 29-year-old McLaurin.

A mock trade was made by MLFootball on X that has the Pittsburgh Steelers sending a 2026 first-round, third-round, and fifth-round pick in a sign-and-trade deal that has Terry McLaurin receiving a 3-year, $100 million contract with the Steelers.

After sending off wide receiver George Pickens in a deal with the Dallas Cowboys that has the Steelers receiving a 2026 third-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick, Pittsburgh has a void to fill in the wide receiver room.

Pittsburgh also decided to pursue DK Metcalf after the former Seattle Seahawks receiver requested a trade from the team in early March.

With tensions rising between the Washington Commanders and their longtime receiver, the Pittsburgh Steelers could explore a trade, potentially offering a package that includes some of their projected 12 draft picks in 2026.
