Commanders quietly send rising player packing before massive return

The Washington Commanders are dealing with some severe injury issues right now. However, head coach Dan Quinn is getting one of his franchise cornerstones back into the fold in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys following a lengthy absence. Sam Cosmi hasn't been seen in a competitive setting since tearing his ACL in Washington's stunning divisional round playoff triumph over the Detroit Lions. It's been a long, grueling road back for the interior offensive lineman, but the coaching staff feels confident enough in his recovery to give him the all-clear. This is going to give everyone a massive lift. The Commanders' offensive line has gone through some complications on the inside this season, although things have improved since Andrew Wylie and Chris Paul became the starting guard tandem.
