The Washington Commanders selected LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, and one could say that worked out very nicely for them.
In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox, he re-drafts the 2024 Draft one year later. Somewhat unsurprisingly, he has the Commanders superstar going No. 1 overall.
"Daniels was an easy pick for Offensive Rookie of the Year after posting a 100.1 quarterback rating, making the Pro Bowl and leading a Washington Commanders team that won four games in 2023 to the NFC title game," Knox wrote. "In short, Daniels has shown every sign of being a legitimate franchise quarterback with an elite ceiling and a top-15 floor."
Many said that Daniels was too dangerous of a runner and would get lit up if he tried what he did in college in the NFL.
But boy, did those people's takes not age well.
The 24-year-old quarterback finished his rookie campaign with 3,568 passing yards and 25 touchdowns. While those numbers do not jump off the page on their own, you also have to take into account that Daniels rushed for 891 yards and six touchdowns.
He also became just the sixth rookie QB in NFL history to start in a conference championship game when he faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles in this past year's playoffs.
While the Chicago Bears' selection of Caleb Williams could still pan out well, it is safe to say that the Commanders are very happy with their No. 2 selection.
