Reaching higher expectations is the challenge awaiting Dan Quinn and the Washington Commanders in 2025. However, one NFL analyst believes the schedule-makers have provided them with a perfect opportunity to get off on the front foot.
Quinn knows what's expected next season. The Commanders went from a bottom-feeder to the NFC Championship game in Year 1 of his tenure. Proving this wasn't just a fleeting moment of prosperity will be the biggest objective when competitive action begins again.
Adam Peters made the aggressive moves needed to ensure these goals are met throughout his second offseason as general manager. They have a tougher schedule and a larger target on their back, but the collective locker room purpose should serve them well.
John Breech from CBS Sports thought the Commanders were handed the golden springboard needed for a successful campaign. The analyst highlighted a winnable four-game stretch to begin the campaign as a reason for optimism. If Quinn's squad navigates it effectively, that could provide enough momentum for another sensational campaign when it's all said and done.
Don't be surprised if the Commanders get off to a hot start and that's because they have a very friendly early-season schedule. In three of their first four games, they'll get to face a group of quarterbacks who might struggle early in the season. In Week 1, the Giants will likely be rolling out Russell Wilson, who would be in his first career start with the team. In Week 3, the Raiders will be starting Geno Smith, who would be making just his third career start with Las Vegas. In Week 4, the Falcons will have Michael Penix, who only has three career starts heading into the 2025 season. The Commanders are in a prime position to win a few games during the first month.John Breech
This won't have gone unnoticed by Quinn. No game is easy, but the Commanders could have had a far worse start. Looking how how testing things potentially become later in the campaign, imposing themselves immediately is crucial.
no team has an easier start to the season than the Washington Commanders

The Commanders proved last season that they can be a match for (and beat) absolutely anybody. Their constant ability to come through in clutch moments was astonishing. If the same trend continues during the upcoming campaign, Quinn's men won't fear any team in front of them.
Avoiding the one-season-wonder tag is pivotal. There are countless examples throughout league history of teams who make phenomenal early strides before tailing off dramatically. The Commanders have enough to suggest they can avoid adding their name to the ever-growing list, but it remains a fine margin situation.
Building brick by brick and taking things one game at a time will be the message. And if the Commanders start well, the better their chances will be.
