‘Confident’ Anthony Richardson admits being ready for ‘every opportunity’ that lies in front of him ahead of NFL Draft

Unfortunately, by late October, he hit a major road bump with a series of injuries, including an AC joint sprain, which requires season-ending surgery. And with that, his fabulous rookie season came to an end. 

But now that the Colts quarterback has recovered, he seems to have great plans for his sophomore year in the NFL. This time, he is taking all the precautions needed, as he stated he isn’t overdoing anything during his workouts and working on striking a balance between throwing the right way and staying healthy. 

Anthony Richardson eyes fresh start in second season

During one of his workouts in Jacksonville, Richardson had ESPN’s Stephen Holder in attendance, with whom the QB talked about his plans for the next season.

He said he ought to treat his second year as his rookie year because he was benched after just four snaps last season. 

People didn’t really get to see everything I could do on the field. So, it’s kind of like a rookie season for me still. But now I’ve gained a lot more knowledge and understanding about football and the NFL. So, I’m a rookie at heart, but now I’m slowly turning into the leader that my team needs me to be. I’m ready for every opportunity that’s in front of me. Richardson said during his quick chit-chat with Holder

While being present at the 21-year-old’s workout, Holder also observed how Richardson, being an impatient man, asked to take a few extra throws at the end of his session as he believed his last one wasn’t good enough. Given the Colts’ high faith in Richardson to lead them to the postseason in 2024, Richardson is putting his all into perfecting his throws.
