As a true freshman in 2024, Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith firmly established himself as one of the best players in all of college football. While the Heisman may have eluded him last year, he's being rewarded ahead of his sophomore year with an incredible deal that has the congratulations pouring in.
On Wednesday, Smith not-so-subtly confirmed recent reports that he has signed an NIL deal with apparel titan Adidas with four simple words: "Three Stripes for life."
In a statement released today, he said that he's looking forward to his new partnership with the brand.
“One of the most memorable moments from last season was losing my black stripe and officially becoming a Buckeye,” Smith said in a statement. “Fast forward a year and I’m blessed to be adding three, joining the fastest brand in football. It’s crazy to be partnering with a brand that has such a talented roster of players and that I’ve been wearing since I was a young kid. We’re not done yet.”

Congratulations have come in for Smith in a big way as Buckeyes fans give him props both on his career and in securing a bag from one of the biggest brands in sports apparel:
"Can’t even lie Adidas is gonna lap Nike soon, they getting all the young athletes," one user wrote.
"Just went out and bought a haul of Adidas gear," another declared.
"You’re rapidly ascending my 'favorite all time Buckeye' list," a third wrote.
"Jeremiah literally has the most aura of any athlete in history."
"Future Heisman Trophy winner," another predicted.
It's certainly an interesting move for Ohio State to even allow given that the football program has its own brand deal with Nike. We'll probably find out soon how Smith will manage to represent both brands as required by the school.
Smith had 76 receptions for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns plus another touchdown on the ground en route to winning a national title in 2024. Had he been eligible for the NFL Draft, there's very little doubt he would have been the top non-quarterback if not the top player taken in the 2025 NFL Draft.
