The NFL players voted for who they think are the top 100 players in the NFL entering the 2025 season, with a second Philadelphia Eagles player now making the list with left tackle Jordan Mailata.

Eagles cornerback Cooper DeJean was ranked at number 60 among the best players in the NFL. DeJean's performance late in the season helped propel him into the rankings for the first time.

"After a 2023 season of struggles in the secondary, the Eagles used their top two picks on defensive backs, including DeJean in the second round, who made an immediate impact. With his help, Philly went from the 31st-ranked defense in passing yards allowed to No. 1, a turnaround that spearheaded its return to the playoffs. To cap off his impressive opening season, DeJean was responsible for one of the most viral and pivotal moments in Super Bowl LIX, intercepting  and returning it for a touchdown to put Philadelphia up 17-0 over the Kansas City Chiefs and kick off the blowout. Celebrating his birthday that day, DeJean's first NFL interception came on the biggest stage there is.

NFL Pro Insight for : Cooper DeJean allowed just 0.8 yards per coverage snap during the regular season, the fourth-fewest among slot cornerbacks and the fewest by a rookie slot corner since 2021 (minimum 250 coverage snaps)."

DeJean went from second round pick to one of the top players in the NFL

What an extraordinary start it has been for the second-year defensive back who had a stellar 2024 campaign. DeJean finished with 51 tackles, three tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, six pass deflections, three fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble in 16 games.

The memorable moment of DeJean's rookie season was picking off Patrick Mahomes in the Super Bowl and returning it for a touchdown. He finished fourth in the Defensive Rookie of the Year voting.

Entering his second season, he is only going to get better, and his role in Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's unit is expanding. During offseason workouts and training camp, DeJean has been playing safety, slot corner, and outside cornerback. He's going to play wherever the chess master Fangio puts him.

It appears it will be another stellar season for DeJean, and he and Quinyon Mitchell will be called upon to step up in Darius Slay, James Bradberry, Avonte Maddox, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson's absence. Last year showed that DeJean is more than ready to handle the new workload in 2025.
