Could Bills Be Open To 'Big Swing' Move?

The Buffalo Bills once again saw their season end at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs as the loss in the AFC Championship was the fourth consecutive time Buffalo succumbed to its nemesis.

So what did the Bills do in the ensuing offseason?

They signed Joey Bosa, Josh Palmer, Michael Hoecht, Laviska Shenault Jr., and Larry Ogunjobi to bolster the defensive line and receiver positions.

That is a fairly sizable group to add to a Super Bowl-caliber roster. But they can also add to it in the draft, which many expect Buffalo to do with another defensive stud either on the line or in the secondary.

But could the Bills be looking to make a monster move in an attempt to leapfrog the Chiefs in the AFC pecking order? For Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, in answering a fan's question regarding trading up or down from No. 30, he isn't ruling out something big.

"Well, the Bills have shown they’re open to a big swing this offseason, making calls on Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby before signing Joey Bosa," Breer wrote. "So, just conceptually, I wouldn’t rule out something aggressive —I’m just not sure this is the draft year to do something like that."

The Bills have 10 draft picks in their pocket, and at No. 30, there might not be a chance to draft a game-changing player.

But perhaps bunching together some late round picks to move up into the early 20s might, and again, Breer stated this might not be the draft to do it, but we have seen players be traded on draft night (hello, A.J. Brown), so maybe the Bills could look to do something similar.

Given the Bills got so close to the Super Bowl last season, being on the cusp sometimes gives a green light to swing for the fences, and when it is the Chiefs standing in your way, maybe an aggressive swing is needed to finally slay that playoff demon.
