CeeDee Lamb and the Dallas Cowboys secured their second-straight win in Week 12, jumping to 5-5-1 on the 2025 NFL season, coach Brian Schottenheimer's first, after a 24-21 win over Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles in an NFC East showdown. But the road doesn't get much easier for Dallas, hosting Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day.
Lamb had a decent day against the NFC East rival, at least on the stat sheet, recording four catches for 75 yards. But it was George Pickens who continued to shine in his first season with the Cowboys, recording nine catches for 146 yards and one touchdown, all of which were game-highs.
While Lamb is still one of the league’s top wide receivers, Pickens has started to emerge as Dak Prescott’s favorite target. The former Oklahoma star has been battling a drop issue throughout his sixth NFL season, even before the ankle injury that sidelined him for three games. In fact, across two matchups with the Eagles in 2025, Lamb has totaled seven drops, including three in Sunday’s win.
While Lamb works to get his drop issues under control, Schottenheimer still has confidence in the three-time All-Pro. Ahead of the Chiefs matchup, the Cowboys coach praised Lamb’s abilities, noting Dallas will continue to target him often when Kansas City comes to town.
"CeeDee's an incredible player," Schottenheimer said. "He's not a good player. He's an incredible player. I think the biggest thing for CeeDee is to know we love him, we trust him. The ball is going to keep coming his way. The big go-ball that he caught down the field was incredible.
"There are some weeks that you have great games, and other weeks where you're like, 'Hey man, yeah, I didn't play as good as I can play.' But when we start drawing up plays for Kansas City, I'll give them a little heads up, there will be a lot of them going to 88."
