Cowboys Announce Dak Prescott History on Sunday

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys came into Week 7 of the NFL season with a lackluster 2-3-1 record, and ready to make a statement against their NFC East rivals, the Washington Commanders (3-3).

While the team as a whole has been struggling, Prescott has proven to be one of the few bright spots in the first six games. He came into Sunday with 1,617 yards passing with 13 touchdowns to just three interceptions, while throwing three or more touchdown passes in each of the last three games. Not only did Prescott keep that streak alive on Sunday, but he made some team history along the way.

As revealed on X by the Dallas Cowboys Public Relations team, Prescott's streak of three passing touchdowns extending from three to four games not only made franchise history, but also is leading the NFL.

"Dak Prescott has thrown for at least three touchdowns in four consecutive games, the longest active streak in the NFL and tied for the longest such streak in franchise history," wrote Dallas. "Prescott had a four-game streak with three passing touchdowns in 2021."

While all touchdowns count for the same amount of points on the scoreboard, Prescott's 74-yard connection with 4:38 remaining in the first quarter was by far the most memorable of the bunch.

With the Cowboys leading 10-8, the touchdown not only extended the lead to 17-8, but it seemed to have lit a fire under the rear ends of the offense.

It was also later revealed that Prescott's performance tied Tony Romo for the most three or more passing touchdown peformances in a career with 40.

Dallas went into the fourth quarter with a 41-22 lead, and seemed well on their way to moving to 3-3-1 on the year.
