Cowboys Announce WR Move After George Pickens News

George Pickens’ first year as a member of the Dallas Cowboys was a massive success. He had the best season of his career, cruising past 1,000 receiving yards, hauling in a career-high nine touchdowns and earning his first Pro Bowl selection.

His second season with the Cowboys has not been as strong. Through eight games he has just 39 receptions for 533 yards and two scores.

However, not all of that is due to Pickens and his ability. Pickens simply has not been on the field as much this year. He is logging limited snaps because he is dealing with nagging shoulder and hamstring injuries that he is playing through.

Pickens has repeatedly been limited at practice, not only this week but for the past month, so he is not at full strength. The hamstring injury is a newer issue.

Still, Pickens is listed as questionable for Sunday’s matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, with head coach Brian Schottenheimer “hopeful” that he suits up ( h/t Cowboys reporter Tommy Yarrish).

With Pickens not at 100 percent, the Cowboys need to add some depth around him. On Saturday, they did just that, announcing they have elevated wide receiver Jordan Hudson from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game.

For Hudson, this marks his first practice squad elevation of the year. His elevation is also due to KaVontae Turpin being sidelined with a rib injury, leaving the wide receiver unit depleted. This will mark his NFL debut if he is active on the game-day roster.

Hudson is an undrafted rookie out of SMU and has spent the entire year on the practice squad.
