Cowboys Blockbuster Trade for Kyle Pitts Teased By Micah Parsons Brother

FRISCO — Since the Dallas Cowboys traded for star wide receiver George Pickens a few weeks ago, there is very little for fans to dislike in regard to the team's offseason haul. Like any team, there are still some questions with fits and depth in certain areas.

They are also yet to extend Micah Parsons, which was their primary objective when the offseason started. It appears that situation is set to drag on further, similar to the deals inked for Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb last year.

Nonetheless, the Cowboys have improved significantly on paper since the end of a hideous 2024 campaign. But could they make one more move to really press the envelope forward?

Ironically, Terrence Parsons, Micah's brother, floated an idea in a post to X this week. He suggested the Cowboys trade for Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts writing, "Imagine Jerry trading a 2nd round pick for Pitts we in the bowl."

Pitts has yet to live up to his billing as the No. 4 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft though framework is clearly there for a star-caliber player. In Pitts' defense, the Falcons have not found much quarterback stability in his early years.

They are counting on Michael Penix Jr. to become their franchise guy and solve that issue. Pitts will enter his fifth year and still has some things to prove on his end.

From the Cowboys' perspective, Jake Ferguson is their No. 1 guy at the position. But he too regressed last season, perhaps the absence of Prescott in the lineup contributing to the downturn of 761 yards in 2023 to 494 in 2024.

At the end of the day, the Cowboys are satisfied with Ferguson and have not sought out a replacement, nor do they need to. Now if that changes, then someone like Pitts with youth and talent would be an ideal candidate.

But this fanciful take from Parsons is a classic example of wishful Cowboys fans thinking. Jerry Jones and the front office have done the thing, finding the floor-raising offensive talent in Pickens to enhance their prospects.

They may or may not need another major move. But fans should not expect something of this level.
