Dallas’ decision does appear to have come from a genuine desire to keep Adams. Adams just finished his first season as the Cowboys’ offensive coordinator. He replaced Brian Schottenheimer after Schottenheimer was promoted to head coach, and their offense averaged 27.7 points per game this season.
The Eagles are looking everywhere for a new offensive coordinator to replace Kevin Patullo. They have so far failed to land any of their top targets, though they clearly have a long list of interviews to go through. Adams will have to be crossed off that list, as he is saying put.
