Trevon Diggs finally made his long-awaited return to action on Sunday as the Dallas Cowboys faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers in a home game at AT&T Center. The All-Pro cornerback has missed eight straight games before his return due to multiple injuries, but the 27-year-old was finally able to work his way back and suit up on Sunday.
However, not even Diggs’ return was enough to help lift the Cowboys. They suffered a 34-17 loss against the Chargers, marking their third consecutive loss. In his return, Diggs was able to register six combined tackles (four solo), making his presence felt in Dallas’ secondary.
It was a knee injury that recently placed Diggs on the IR. It kept the two-time Pro Bowler out for an extended period, and it wasn’t until Saturday that the Cowboys decided to activate him ahead of the Chargers game.
Apart from the knee issue, Diggs was also initially dealing with a head injury. The former Alabama Crimson Tide standout was placed under the league’s concussion protocol after sustaining an injury during a home incident. As Diggs worked his way through the concussion, it was revealed that he was also dealing with a knee injury, further extending his absence.
There was a lot of talk surrounding Diggs’ head injury, with rumors circulating about how he suffered the concussion at home. On Sunday, the Cowboys star finally cleared the air.
Jane Slater of the NFL Network reported on Sunday that Diggs was concussed while trying to install a TV in his home. The TV fell on his head, leading to the injury. “I was trying to be a handyman,” Diggs admitted.
Some of you wanted to know how Trevon Diggs got concussed. It was never that crazy but the lack of answers made it sound like it was. With his permission he shared and here’s the video of it.

As indicated in Slater’s report, Diggs did not think it was a big deal, but the rumors surrounding the incident have forced him to address the issue publicly once and for all.
The 6-8-1 Cowboys, who were officially eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday, have two more games to play this season. Up next for them is a Week 17 matchup against the Washington Commanders on Christmas Day. Dallas will be on the road on Thursday, with kickoff from Northwest Stadium scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET.
