CeeDee Lamb has been fun to watch at Dallas Cowboys training camp as he's made tough catches, weaved through defenses and, of course, practiced his end zone celebration with new buddy George Pickens.
The wide receiver duo is shaping up to be one of the best in the entire NFL with quarterback Dak Prescott, ideally, healthy to sling them the rock this season.
Like head coach Brian Schottenheimer has urged, the energy is high. It's infectious, and the now-veteran Lamb - entering his sixth season with "America's Team" - is a huge part of that.
For CeeDee, this year's camp is about more than just being excited about the one-two punch with Pickens or building chemistry with Dak. His presence is a much-needed mental boost from where he was a year ago. And he is relishing in it.
"I don't think anyone here is more excited than me…" Lamb said at his solo press conference. "I love every part of being here with the guys grinding. Even when I'm tired, I think about last year when I wasn't here and I wasn't tired and just doing the things that I love with my team and being better on my craft."
This is Lamb's first training camp since 2023 after he held out all of last year's program before eventually signing a four-year, $136 million contract extension.
After sitting out, Lamb has now realized how important this preparation phase of the offseason is, especially for the relationship with his quarterback.
"At first, I didn't, I didn't believe it, but obviously I was a little oblivious to the truth…" Lamb said about how missing camp led to a rusty start to the year. "I can be as strong, as fast, as explosive as I want to be, but if I can't control it to where Dak understands how explosive or how in and out my breaks I can be, I think I did that essentially just for me, and it's never just for me.
"Having this helmet on and being able to work with Dak and talk to Dak and understand, like, what is he seeing, those conversations, those are the type of things that I've missed."
Despite the slow start, Lamb was still able to post his fourth straight 1,000+ yard season ... even after Prescott went down with an injury. However, at the end of the year, CeeDee missed some time as well. He sat out Dallas' last two games because of a shoulder issue that had lingered all season.
Now? He owned the podium to proclaim how his body feels heading into 2025.
"I feel 1,000% [healthy]," Lamb said.
Contract situations will inevitably be a distraction from preseason work, as was the case for Lamb last year and star edge rusher Micah Parsons this year.
But with that all behind him, CeeDee is positioning himself to have a massive season for the Cowboys' lethal passing attack.
And it all starts here in Oxnard.
