Cowboys Contract Standoff Motivating Micah Parsons To 'Work Harder'

We are edging closer to Dallas Cowboys training camp, and it doesn't feel like Micah Parsons' contract is any closer to getting finalized.

With Parsons set to command at least $40 million APY, potentially across five years, things haven't been moving in the direction Micah wants. Having previously stated he wanted a deal done quickly, and ideally before training camp, we are fast approaching that deadline.

But Dallas, as it has become accustomed to doing, is dragging its feet in paying one of its best players; however, Micah isn't taking that personally, it's just more motivation for him.

“I just work harder," Parsons said via pennlive.com. "Like, to me, I look at it like if people don’t see your value, you don’t cry and sit down. You just work harder. You got to show people your value. I just think that’s, the difference, Like I go, okay, bet, and I just work."

We all know Micah's value as one of the best pass rushers in football, and don't worry, Jerry and Stephen Jones do too.

However, a major deal like this takes time, and we know the Cowboys rarely seem to be in a rush to finalize these contracts, despite a clear money-saving route to completing them early.

For now, it's as you were with Parsons' contract, and with training camp on the horizon, that is where Dallas has been known to open up the offseason with a contract signing or two.

And Micah, this year, better be among them.
