Cowboys Cut 4 Players Following The NFL Draft

The Dallas Cowboys added nine new players in the 2025 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, for every addition there must be a subtraction.

Four members of the Cowboys learned that the hard way today. According to Cowboys insider Todd Archer, the Cowboys have released offensive linemen Earl Bostick and Jack Anderson along with linebacker Brock Mogensen and running back Malik Davis. Dallas added two offensive linemen, two running backs and a linebacker in last week's draft.

"Having drafted two OL, two RBs and a LB, the Cowboys have waived OL Earl Bostick, OL Jack Anderson, LB Brock Mogensen and RB Malik Davis," Archer wrote.

Bostick went undrafted out of Kansas in 2023 but never played.

Anderson was a seventh-round pick by the Buffalo Bills in the 2021 NFL Draft. He has played in 15 NFL games split between the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants and Indianapolis Colts, starting three games. He was a two-time All-Big 12 selection at Texas Tech.

Mogensen went undrafted out of South Dakota in 2024 after earning FCS All-American honors with the team.

Davis went undrafted out of Florida in 2022 and mostly played special teams over his first two seasons. As a rookie he had 38 carries for 161 yards and one touchdown along with 63 receiving yards. But in 2023 he was limited to just three games. He did not play in 2024.

The Cowboys made it clear that the offensive line, backfield and defense were their priorities in the NFL Draft last week. They took star guard Tyler Cooper No. 12 overall, followed by a pair of defenders on Day 2 in defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku and cornerback Shavon Revel.

On Day 3 they took a pair of talented running backs in Texas' Jaydon Blue and Clemson's Phil Mafah. They also added two defensive tackles, offensive tackle Ajani Cornelius and linebacker Shemar James.

2025 is going to be an important year for the Dallas Cowboys. They have a new head coach in Brian Schottenheimer, a couple of new additions and hopefully a roster that is back at full health.

Did Dallas do enough in the NFL Draft to get them back into the playoffs this season?
