Cowboys' Dak Prescott addresses tough schedule to end season

Star quarterback Dak Prescott welcomes the brutal stretch of games his Dallas Cowboys face over the final four weeks of the regular season as the club attempts to win the NFC East title and possibly enter the playoffs as the conference's No. 1 seed.

"That’s okay," Prescott said about the schedule while speaking with NBC Sports' Peter King shortly after Dallas' statement 33-13 home win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night. "That’s good. That’s what you ask for this time of year. You want the big games in December. We’re not sitting here celebrating because we won one game."

The Cowboys play at the 7-6 Buffalo Bills this coming Sunday afternoon. Dallas then has a road game at the Miami Dolphins (9-3) and a home contest versus the Detroit Lions (9-4) before the Cowboys play at the Washington Commanders (4-9) in Week 18.

To compare, 10-3 Philadelphia ends the regular season facing clubs that began Monday holding a combined record of 17-33.

"That’s our standard," Prescott added during his chat with King. "That’s our expectation. When you finish a game like this, you look up and you’ve got to go to Buffalo, a team that just won a tough one out there. They’re ready to play, too. It’s a hell of a matchup. We’ll be ready."

According to ESPN stats, Prescott finished the weekend ranked second in the NFL with a 74.6 adjusted QBR and a 107.5 passer rating on the season. He leads the league with 28 passing touchdowns and is third with 3,505 passing yards.

As of early Monday afternoon, oddschecker listed Prescott as second among the betting favorites at +325 odds to earn Most Valuable Player honors. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy topped the list at +280 odds at that same time.

Also on Monday, oddschecker had the Cowboys as 1.5-point underdogs for this coming Sunday's game at Buffalo.

"It’d be great," Prescott said about possibly winning the MVP Award. "Every now and then, that thought crosses your mind. It’d be cool. An award like that would be great for Cowboy fans and the people that doubted me more than anything. But my main goal has always been the Super Bowl."

Before Prescott can think about hoisting any trophies, he first must concentrate on keeping the Cowboys above the Eagles in the division standings.
