If there is one person who knows what Dallas Cowboys EDGE Micah Parsons is going through with his contract saga with Jerry Jones, it's Dak Prescott.
With No. 4 not having a new deal until hours before Week 1 last year, Prescott knows all the trials and tribulations of dealing with Jerry and how simple contract talks can sometimes be not-so-simple.
Parsons has yet to practice in Oxnard as he awaits his new deal, and then the trade request landed like a ton of bricks. In an interview with Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports, Dak revealed a text message he exchanged with Micah.
“(Expletive), man" read the message per Epstein.
And Dak has elaborated on his chat with No. 11.
"It was just frustration that this is going on and I can say it from experience that it's just frustrating and I hate that he's going through it," Prescott said. "But as I've told him, keep handling things the way that you are and I believe, he should be paid."
Yeah, we can all feel Dak's frustration at what Micah is going through, and the fact that things have gotten personal in the media bashings, means that while Jerry might not be taking Micah's trade request seriously, it is being reported that Parsons' side is serious.
Time will tell if anything comes of it, and Parsons deserves to be paid, there's no question about it.
But what he doesn't deserve is the back and forth with his owner that played out in the public space, instead of getting a deal done.
And Prescott feels that way too.
