Cowboys' Dak Prescott issues eyebrow-raising statement to Rams owner

The Dallas Cowboys lost their preseason opener to the Los Angeles Rams 31-21, with Joe Milton getting the start and being rather up-and-down throughout the game.

But it appears that the action on the field might not be the biggest thing to come out of the Cowboys traveling to SoFi Stadium.

In a video captured by Mike Leslie of WFAA, pre-game, quarterback Dak Prescott and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones were seen talking to Rams owner Stan Kroenke on the field.

And cameras picked up a statement from Dak that might have Cowboys fans either happy the quarterback said it ... or might have Cowboys fans shaking their heads.

"We'll meet y'all in the NFC Championship," Prescott said to Kroenke.

Now, we know that the Cowboys' infamous NFL Championship drought has extended to nearly three decades, so Prescott making this kind of statement is taken with a grain of salt for most.

Still, with new head coach Brian Schottenheimer instilling a mentality into his team that they can win the Super Bowl in 2025, Prescott's words fit right along with that.

Now, given the state of the roster and the things going on with Micah Parsons' contract, you will be hard-pressed to find many people who genuinely believe that the Cowboys can win the Super Bowl.

In fact, some think they will even struggle to make the playoffs, but Dak appears confident in ending his franchise's NFC Championship drought in Schottenheimer's first year as head coach.

Will the Cowboys meet the Rams in the NFC Championship game in 2025? Don't bet your house on it.
