Cowboys Dak Prescott Outlines Plan To Navigate Pickens Problem

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is no stranger to navigating tough circumstances, and with the front office trading for George Pickens, Dak now has two star receivers at his disposal.

CeeDee Lamb and Pickens will help push this offense, along with Brian Schottenheimer, the new head coach/play-caller.

But a potential problem could arise if Lamb and Pickens see themselves as No. 1s and both want the ball all the time.

And Dak, as the true leader he is, already has a plan to navigate that potential problem if it arises.

"Having a conversation with them up front, hey there are going to be some games and maybe one or the other [will get targets]," Prescott said. "It's tough, and that's the beauty of having you two guys. Those are two unselfish guys, and they want to win.

"When you're not winning and you're not getting the ball, trust me, I understand the frustration. I'm never going to be mad at them for wanting the ball. So it's the communication, the relationship that we're building, and we'll continue to build whether it's amongst me and GP [Pickens] or CeeDee.”

If there is a quarterback who can ease this potential issue, it's Prescott.

The quintessential locker room leader, Dak has had his fair share of issues with Dez Bryant wanting the ball in his early years, plus he also had Lamb and Amari Cooper on the same offense, and that worked out well.

With Lamb and Pickens, we know Dak isn't going to favor one or the other - whoever is open gets the ball. It's really that simple.

And based on what we have heard both CeeDee and George say, they are well aware of how things can play out, and as long as the team is winning, it's smooth sailing.

But if it's not, the Cowboys have the ultimate diffuser in Dak.
