Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has spent too much time in the treatment room over the past couple of seasons.
The former fourth-round pick has only played a full season just twice in the last five years, with a nasty ankle injury in 2020, a thumb injury in 2022, and a torn hamstring last season, all making some believe that Dak won't be able to overcome his injury troubles.
So, how can Dak ever be confident that his body won't break down again after so many injuries over the years? Speaking with Good Good Golf as he enjoyed nine holes with Will Grier and his brother Tad, Prescott revealed all.
"It should happen in the rehab," Prescott said. "It's not a good thing, but when you've been injured like I have throughout my career, just different injuries, you really just grow to trust the surgery. If I had surgery, I had it for a reason, and I trust my rehab process, so I don’t really think about it once I’ve rehabbed, and especially the doc says you’re good to go."
For most, the Cowboys' 2025 success hinges purely on whether or not Dak can stay healthy and if his body can hold up to the rigors of playing a full season.
It has been a tough task of late to do that, but he seems confident in his body after recovering from his hamstring injury.
Dak participated in OTAs and minicamp, so the expectation is he will be full-go in Oxnard next month. Granted, the coaching staff might be a little cautious with their franchise star, but it appears the mental aspect of coming back is something Prescott is already over.
Now comes the physical part, which for most is the easiest part of the recovery journey.
