Cowboys’ DaRon Bland admits Trevon Diggs’ return from injury will be ‘something dangerous’ in their pursuit to end Super Bowl drought
Jason Parkhurst-USA TODAY Sports

For the Dallas Cowboys, losing Trevon Diggs to injury last season was a big blow. However, from that disappointment emerged DaRon Bland.

The second-year pro went on to set the NFL record for interceptions returned for touchdowns. Now with the return of Diggs, Bland suggests they will be dangerous in their quest for a Super Bowl.

Trevon Diggs was selected twice in a row to the Pro-Bowl before he went down with a torn ACL. As he is set to return, fellow cornerback DaRon Bland had something to say to The Athletic reporter Jon Machota today.

I mean, a lot of people are not expecting what Tre is gonna come back with. I know what Tre is gonna come back with. It’s going to be something dangerous. Can’t wait.

DaRon Bland said

Essentially, it was a warning to the rest of the league. The combination of the two All-Pro cornerbacks should send chills down the spines of opposing players.

However, Bland was suggesting that Diggs would be coming back with vengeance. Eager to show the football world what they missed out on last season. This means they will be feasting on interceptions in the backfield come game day.

Even though the Cowboys could not make big moves in free agency, they are still legitimate contenders with the personnel they have. Having Diggs back makes their defense even better. As Bland said, dangerously better.

Trevon Diggs needs to bring his A-game if the Dallas Cowboys want Super Bowl

For Trevon Diggs, last season served as a reminder that an injury could cost him an entire season. It may also slow him down in the future. Knowing this, the All-Pro cornerback will be joining his teammates to try and end their team’s Super Bowl drought. Something the team has long been trolled for.

Even though they lost a few solid pieces to free agency, the defense still looks pretty good going into next season.

After all, their dominating run last year was one of the prime reasons for their team to notch up a 12-5 record. Their next-man-up mentality brought out the best in DaRon Bland. Therefore, what is stopping them from promoting a few others into the spotlight?

If the defense holds their end of the bargain, there is a solid chance the Dallas Cowboys could be making a deep run in the playoffs. Come crunch time, opponents will fear their ability to both sack the passer and intercept passes. Prime plays that win Super Bowls.
