The Dallas Cowboys will enter the offseason with needs at about every position as the franchise looks to build a capable roster under first-time head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
With needs everywhere, the Cowboys could go in any direction at the NFL Draft with running back, receiver, defensive line at the top of the wishlist. Boise State's Ashton Jeanty looms as a possibility, but thanks to Saquon Barkley, who has made the running back fun again, Ashton might not last until Pick 12.
As such, in NFL.com's latest mock draft, given the abundance of quality running backs in this class, the Cowboys get CeeDee Lamb some much-needed help in Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan.
"Dallas takes the top player still on the board in McMillan, whose 6-foot-5 frame, long strides and strong hands make him a threat down the sideline, in the red zone and over the middle," NFL.com writes.
McMillan is coming off a stellar 2024 campaign that saw him haul in 84 receptions for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns en route to being named First-Team All-Big 12 and being one of the finalists for the Biletnikoff Award for the best receiver in college football.
A great yards-after-the-catch receiver who has the strength and agility to be a weapon in open space, McMillan can create mismatches due to his position flexibility, not to mention that 6-5 frame, which would give Dak Prescott a genuine red zone threat.
So while Jeanty looms as the shiny pick for the Cowboys, getting Lamb some help in the receiver room could be just as beneficial, and in McMillan, Dallas gets a player who could add instant impact to the passing game.
