It took Philadelphia 24 hours to seemingly move on from the devastating injury to defensive captain Brandon Graham.
Philadelphia signed defensive end K.J. Henry to their practice squad as a way to bolster the team's defensive line. Mike Garafolo of NFL Network was the first to report on the signing.
Henry, a 2023 fifth-round pick of the Washington Commanders last season, was on the Dallas Cowboys this season and was waived last week. He has recorded 2.5 sacks in 14 games played in his NFL career.
The Clemson product joins a practice squad that is already at the maximum amount of players providing a tease that the Eagles could call up former sixth-round pick Tarron Jackson. The Coastal Carolina prospect has recorded a single sack in three seasons of NFL play.
Henry's signing is simply providing more options for the Eagles after Graham's injury in Week 12.
Philadelphia's longest-tenured player in franchise history tore his biceps during Sunday's victory over the Los Angeles Rams. Making the injury even more heartbreaking for fans (other than the dominant run Graham was on during the win) was the fact that Graham has consistently said 2024 would be his last season.
With the injury now in the rearview mirror, the Eagles will need to figure out a way to suddenly manage a rash of injuries that has plagued the edge rusher position.
Fellow defensive end Bryce Huff currently sits on injured reserve with a wrist injury. With the signing of Henry, it's clear the Eagles are looking to address the sudden holes in their top-ranked defense.
The only question will be if it's enough to replace the living legend of Graham.
