Cowboys Fave Hilarious Reaction To George Pickens Trade

When the news broke Wednesday morning that the Dallas Cowboys had finally found their No. 2 wide receiver in a trade for George Pickens, the reactions were mostly very positive from fans online.

There have been some reactions from players too, but not for the reasons you think.

Dallas has acquired Pickens and a sixth-round draft pick from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a 2026 third-round and 2027 fifth-round pick in the coming NFL Drafts.

For the Cowboys, this is a huge pick up, as Pickens' physicality and rangy athleticism relieves pressure off of CeeDee Lamb in this Dak Prescott-led passing attack.

However, the move doesn't come with its fair share of concerns ... mostly related to Pickens' history of unsportsmanlike behavior, short temper, and frequent out bursts.

In fact, one of his latest examples of this behavior came in the two teams' last meeting, when the Cowboys faced the Steelers in Pittsburgh last October.

Pickens and Cowboys' slot cornerback Jourdan Lewis got into a scuffle after Lewis seemed to taunt the Steelers receiver just before Dallas sealed a 20-17 win.

Pickens lashed out with a reactive grab and yank of Lewis' face mask, causing the teams to brush up on one another before heading to the showers.

"Pittsburgh need a receiver. George Pickens weak,” Lewis reportedly said on his way back to the locker room after the incident.

Both players were fined by the NFL after the incident.

Fast forward to now, Lewis posted his reaction (quoted above) to the news on social media.

It was another positive one ... but because he doesn't have to worry about being teammates with Pickens.

"Confirmation, God wanted me in Jacksonville," Lewis said.

It's safe to say the two rivals dodged a bullet now that they won't have to face each other every day in practice and in the locker room. That could have gotten ugly quick.

Lewis ended a long Cowboys career this offseason by signing a large free agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars worth $30 million over three years.

Pickens now joins Dallas with a chance to greatly impact the team's offensive versatility and rebound from a disappointing 7-10 season. He is also eligible for an extension as he enters his final rookie contract year.

Unfortunately for the fans eager to see another round of the Lewis/Pickens bout, Dallas and Jacksonville will not play one another in 2025.

That may be for the better, as it seems at least one side is still bitter about this feud.
