FRISCO - This week at The Star, the Dallas Cowboys have officially begun offseason team activities (OTAs) in preparation for the 2025 NFL season.
After a much busier offseason than last year, the Cowboys have brought in a collection of new players through free agency, the NFL Draft, and four trades.
One of those trades brought star CeeDee Lamb a new running-mate in the form of explosive receiver George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
On paper, Pickens and his deep-threat prowess seems like a match made in heaven to complement Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott's skillsets. The only question left is how it will all mesh on the field.
And what jersey number Pickens will wear on his new team.
Cowboys media members got their first glimpses of practice Tuesday to answer at least one of those questions.
And our Mike Fisher reports that Pickens hit the practice field wearing No. 13.
Of course, we are still in an early phase of the offseason and still more month out from training camp in Oxnard. This jersey number could change before Week 1, but for now, Pickens has suited up in a new digit.

For his three seasons in Pittsburgh, Pickens wore No. 14.
Most recently for Dallas, another fan-favorite receiver wore No. 13 in Michael Gallup.
Gallup spent multiple seasons as a solid role player, but never quite lived up to the flashes of big-play potential he showed early in his career. He was eventually cut, signed by the Las Vegas Raiders, retired, then signed by the Washington Commanders for 2025 since leaving Dallas.
New head coach Brian Schottenheimer has enjoyed his brief conversations with his new receiver so far, and is looking forward to watching him in his Cowboys uniform.
"My time with him has been incredible. … We were all on board (with adding him). I see a guy that is maturing. He’s obviously a tremendous athlete," Schotty said.
That athleticism isn't luck ... but maybe Pickens' new jersey number can bring some as he enters a new chapter in his exciting young career.
