Cowboys George Pickens Reveals Surprising OTAs Outlook

Change is as good as a holiday, and maybe that is all receiver George Pickens needed as he swapped the Pittsburgh Steelers for the Dallas Cowboys this offseason.

Now coming to a new organization with new teams, scheme, and everything in between, Pickens has had a mental reset, if you will, having been with the Steelers for three seasons.

He now comes to a Cowboys team and is looking to make the most of his opportunity, both on and off the field.

"Super rejuvenating, new city, new state, it's super refreshing," Pickens said on the move.

There is one red flag for some, if you want to call it that, with George's fiery on-field personality and his off-field missteps, some of which have led fans and media members alike to question if the trade will work out for both parties.

But Pickens has his take on the narrative that has been built around his name.

"I'm actually like a chill guy," Pickens said. "It's like all a big phase of a tornado that's not even true. I'm a chill guy, and I just love to work."

Now getting a second chance, if you will, in Dallas, Pickens will line up alongside CeeDee Lamb to give Dak Prescott another target instead of just 88.

With both CeeDee and George seeing themselves as No. 1s, the pair has made it clear that they know this is a partnership, it isn't a one-way street.

And George is determined to keep it that way.

"Just staying humble, that's kind of what I always did," Pickens said. "Even when the story was what the story was, I always just kept working, staying humble."

His time as a Cowboy is off to a good start. He is building chemistry with Dak and CeeDee, attending OTAs, impressing Brian Schottenheimer in team meetings, and everything in between.

George has been portrayed as a certain type of player and person, and he's determined to change that in Dallas.

Change is as good as a holiday, and right now, Pickens is loving the change of scenery.
