Cowboys Have Top-30 Visitors Still Sitting There

The Dallas Cowboys still have several Top-30 visitors still waiting to be drafted after an amazing first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Cowboys landed Caleb Downs and Malachi Lawrence, which may be the best first round of a draft for Dallas since the DeMarcus Ware draft.

There is still work to be done, but with the first two picks, I can say that safety is off the board as a need. Defensive end could still be on the list, but I’m beyond excited about the two players coming in.

With all that being said, the Cowboys still have multiple Top-30 visitors sitting on the board, but have no second round pick.

Day 2 and 3 are where the Cowboys will have to start leaning hard into their scouting reports, pre-draft interviews, medical checks, and figuring out who can really handle playing in Dallas.

Right now, the Cowboys’ remaining Top-30 visitors point in one clear direction. Fixing the defense.

Cowboys Top-30 Visitors Point to More Defense

If you look at the Cowboys Top-30 visitors, the trend is pretty obvious. Dallas has spent a lot of time evaluating cornerbacks and linebackers, and that usually means those will be the picks once the draft starts thinning out.

We watched the Cowboys secure a difference-maker in the secondary with Downs and added a pass rusher with some juice and possibly the best rushing moves in the draft in Lawrence.

Now let’s fix the rest of the defense.

Tier 1: Top Cowboys Targets Still Available

Jacob Rodriguez, the linebacker from Texas Tech, feels like a pick the Cowboys need to make happen.

I love that he is one of the most productive linebackers in this draft, and he plays with a physical edge that this defense needs.

The Cowboys don’t just need depth, they need another playmaker at the second level and Rodriguez fits that perfectly.

Jermod McCoy, the cornerback from Tennessee, is the high upside play with medical concerns.

The medical concerns are legit and that’s why he is still on the board, but talent wise, he’s a high-level prospect who could have gone top-10.

If Dallas is comfortable with the medicals, this could easily be a pick, if he continues to fall.

Avieon Terrell, a cornerback from Clemson, could be the safer option for the secondary.

He’s polished, competitive, and can step in and contribute early. The Cowboys clearly did their homework at corner, and Terrell fits what they still need after addressing safety.

Tier 2: Day 3 Cowboys Top-30 Visitors to Watch

Colton Hood, the other corner from Tennessee, I’m not sure if he will last to day three, and he could honestly switch places with McCoy pushing Jermod to the third day.

Hood brings physicality and toughness and that is something I think Dallas needs in the secondary to compliment Caleb Downs.

Kaleb Elarms-Orr , the TCU linebacker, is a serious threat to be taken by the Cowboys on day 3.

This is a highly athletic linebacker with regional ties that fit what Dallas looks for. If Rodriguez is off the board, this is a name to keep an eye on.

Tier 3: Offensive Top-30 Visitors

Chris Bell, a wide receiver from Lousiville, would give the Cowboys a developmental wide receiver option.

With George Pickens currently on the franchise tag, Dallas has to think long-term at the position. I would like Bell to be a late-round developmental wide receiver.

Eli Stowers , is a tight end from Vanderbilt, who’s another developmental prospect that would be a good investment.

I know tight end isn’t a major need, but the Cowboys value versatility. Stowers would give them another piece to develop on offense.
