You won't need much evidence to persuade the Dallas Cowboys of the fact that they need to add a second-option wide receiver to the 2025 roster.
COO Stephen Jones and the Cowboys' front office haven't been shy about expressing this goal, saying they are actively looking for an "explosive No. 2 receiver".
We can listen to what they say all we want, but it's almost more import ant that we pay attention to what they do about this need.
Ex Cowboys' scout Bryan Broaddus has ... and he's noticing what many others are too: that wide receiver is as major a priority as it needs to be in this NFL Draft.
"I think they're going to take Tet McMillan or (Matthew) Golden from Texas," Broaddus said on the One Star Cowboys podcast.
"I think they're hunting these wide receivers."
Arizona's Tetairoa McMillan and Texas' Matthew Golden each visited The Star the last few weeks. They also weren't the only prominent receiver prospects to stop by, which says something to Broaddus.
"If you look at the visits and stuff, 30 visits t ell you some stories. Even the fact they brought in Luther Burden in from Missouri tells you they're hunting these wide receivers."
McMillan, Golden, and Burden have been the top of many Cowboys fans' receiver wish list this offseason, and with the No. 12 pick in the first round, Dallas is in prime position to get their guy - whichever one that may be.
McMillan is nearly 6-5 with incredible athleticism and great hands. Golden is a lightning bolt with his 4.29 40-yard dash being the fastest of all wideouts at the Scouting Combine. Burden brings a nice combination of all skillsets and can run any route on the field.
Needless to say, any of these options would easily satisfy the Cowboys' need at the position and compliment All-Pro pass catcher CeeDee Lamb well.
As long as front office stays on the hunt, of course.
There has been a different second-leading receiver in each of the last four seasons behind CeeDee. He needs the help ... and he wouldn't be the only one to benefit either.
The Cowboys will have their chance to find a WR2 on April 24 in Green Bay, Wisconsin when the first round of the NFL Draft kicks off.
