Cowboys' Jerry Jones Announces Bold Deadline Statement On Micah Parsons: 'You're Under Contract'

Dallas Cowboys training camp is over, and Micah Parsons is still without his new contract, as the long, drawn-out saga continues.

With No. 11 not practicing, instead holding in while being a part of team meetings and walkthroughs, the All-Pro is still engaged, but not as engaged as he would like to be out on the practice field with his defense.

But this is the business side crossing over into the football side of the NFL, and for most, the Week 1 deadline for getting Parsons signed is coming like a freight train.

However, owner Jerry Jones doesn't see Week 1 as a potential deadline at all.

“No, not at all," Jerry said. "You don't have deadlines when you're playing under a contract."

Cue a collective eye roll from Cowboys Nation.

We've been here before, we know how this will end (we think) because we can be fairly certain that Micah won't miss games.

Jerry once stated, "deadlines make deals," part of what makes us wonder if this will get done without the "fear" of a deadline.

Micah has a $21 million contract for 2025, plus the potential for two franchise tags, so he isn't going anywhere, but this saga has gone on for far longer than it needed to.

But Jerry loves the spotlight, and this offseason, without Micah's contract situation, it would have been a relatively "normal" offseason, which Jerry simply can't have.

Will Parsons play Week 1? That might be the biggest question to answer as training camp wraps up.
