Cowboys List Of 2025 NFL Draft Picks Reveals Roster-Build Weapons
Kevin Jairaj-Imagn Images

FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys dust has settled.

Well, some of it, anyway.

With a 7-10 record, the Cowboys find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to the NFL playoffs ... but are hopefully "all-in'' (get it?) on personnel department action as it relates to NFL free agency in March and the NFL Draft in April.

Yes, Dallas can create $100 million in cap room to help that first exercise.

And what about the second exercise, the draft? How can the Cowboys help themselves there?

It starts with knowing where they pick.

And now we do know a big part of it.

As projected here, Dallas could have 10 picks in 2025. They will have six of their normal picks. They will be absent a fourth-round pick (from the Jonathan Mingo trade). And they should have four compensatory picks.

Why do the comp picks come Dallas' way? As the "payback'' for having lost via free agency a year ago Tyron Smith (Jets), Dorance Armstrong (Washington), Tyler Biadasz (Washington) and Tony Pollard (Tennessee).

This will all go official at the start of the NFL business year in March, but again, the projection via CowboysWire ...

1st Round (12) – 12th

2nd Round (12) – 44th

3rd Round (12) – 76th

5th Round (11) – 148th

5th-Round Comp - 168th

5th-Round Comp - 170th

5th-Round Comp - 171st

6th Round (18) – 186th

6th-Round Comp – 209th

7th Round (10) – 226th

Wanna dream big about drafting Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty (as he himself is doing)? There's the ammo. Wanna consider packaging picks to move up to wherever? Those comp picks can be part of the deal.

Wanna get better faster? Use all of the tools - not just the NFL Draft, but free agency, too - to muscle-up this roster.

It's all doable. ... with the NFL Draft a key component.
