Mike Garafolo reports that the Cowboys have made four roster moves, including placing rookie LB Malachi Lawrence on injured reserve.
Dallas also activated OLB Marist Liufau and elevated WR Jordan Hudson and TE James Mitchell from the practice squad.
Lawrence, 23, was a three-star recruit and the 137th-ranked defensive lineman in the 2021 recruiting class. He committed to Central Florida and remained there for five years, earning First Team All-Big 12 in 2025 and Honorable Mention All-Big 12 in 2023.
The Cowboys drafted Lawrence with their first-round pick in the 2026 draft, and he signed a four-year rookie deal that includes a fifth-year option Dallas can exercise.
During his four-year college career, Lawrence appeared in 39 games and recorded 72 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 20 sacks, five pass defenses, one fumble recovery, and three forced fumbles.
In 2026, Lawrence has appeared in eight games for the Cowboys, recording five tackles and one sack.
