Cowboys Make Brandon Aubrey Announcement on Sunday

Brandon Aubrey made history for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The All-Pro kicker made his first 60-yard field goal of the new NFL season in Dallas’ Week 2 matchup against the Washington Commanders.

The Cowboys went up 30-13 at the 13:22 mark of the fourth quarter courtesy of Aubrey. The three-time Pro Bowler scored on a 60-yard field goal to give his team a commanding lead in the final frame.

This long field goal was extra special for Aubrey as it marked a statistical milestone for the 31-year-old. The Cowboys took to social media to announce the news.

This was Aubrey’s third field goal of the game. He scored from 25 yards in the first quarter, followed by a 44-yard field goal in the third.

Aubrey wasn’t the only one to make history against the Commanders. Quarterback Dak Prescott tied Tony Romo for the most passing touchdowns in franchise history. Prescott’s big moment came in the third quarter as he found Jake Ferguson for a 12-yard score. This marked Prescott’s 248th touchdown pass, tying Romo’s longstanding record.

The Commanders, meanwhile, took a big hit during the game. Franchise quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a serious elbow injury late in the first half. He was carted off the field and was subsequently ruled out for the rest of the game.

The Cowboys are looking to score their first win of the season. They are coming off a disappointing 28-20 loss in Week 1 against the New York Giants. As of this writing, the Cowboys lead the Commanders 30-20 with 5:40 left in the fourth quarter.
