Micah Parsons is one of the NFL's best defensive players, and at just 25 years old, he is on pace to be a cornerstone player with an illustrious career representing the Dallas Cowboys.
The Cowboys and Parsons are in the midst of contract extension negotiations, as he is currently on his last year of his rookie deal. The proposed numbers are in the neighborhood to make Micah the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
For the first time in years, Parsons attended this week's voluntary workouts at The Star to ring in the new offseason program ... something that impressed many and showed his commitment to the team despite the negotiations.
He also happens to post frequently on social media. Yeah, so what?
This offseason has seen its fair share of headlines circling Micah's behavior ... whether it be related to his ongoing contract talks, his impromptu trip to Dubai with buddies, or his viral online spat with now-former teammate DeMarcus Lawrence.
No matter the "good" that has also surfaced in this offseason's news - like Parsons committing to a new leadership role in the Cowboys' locker room - fans continue to gripe about his social media usage and how it is detrimental to his time.
You can believe all you want ... but if you call him out for it, you better be ready to reap the consequences if (and when) Micah talks back.
Tuesday, Parsons engaged in a friendly discussion on X about what NBA player has the best signature shoe.
"Jordan still selling!" Parsons said in response - which is notable given Micah's multi-year shoe deal with Adidas. (But again, he just speaks his unfiltered truth.)
One fan in the comments was not too appreciative of Micah's mid-day scrolling.
"Get back to the practice field and stop tweeting! This guy is so frustrating!!!!" the fan said.
Micah kept his receipts on this one. Here is how he clapped back.
"Where you 9-5 brother? It was 1:55 on a Tuesday afternoon!"
That 1:55 p.m. Micah is referring to? The exact timestamp on the fan's comment ... who should probably "get back to" whatever cubicle he was absent from.
Former Cowboys statr Dez Bryant approved of Micah's jab, commenting "Bruh ".
Parsons certainly talks the talk with haters online, but it's safe to say he also walks the walk.
Even though he has missed voluntary workouts in the past, he's still showed up to training camp in excellent shape. Then when he's on the field, he is the obvious center of attention.
Now this year, he was one of the "early birds" as he assumes his position as the leader of the Dallas defense.
In his four-year Cowboys career to this point, Parsons has 256 tackles, 52.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles, and 41 quarterback stuffs.
He has received all the praise for those numbers as well, with three All-Pro nods (two on the 1st Team) and has made the Pro Bowl every year he's been in the league.
And his job is about to pay him $200 million for it ...
