Cowboys' Micah Parsons on 'superhero' Tom Brady: 'He looks to kill you'

Cowboys outside linebacker Micah Parsons said great athletes such as Tampa Bay quarterback Tom Brady are like superheroes.

“He definitely gets beat up and he gets back up, and I think a lot of people in this league are superheroes as long as you can get back up and keep going,” Parsons said in a news conference Wednesday.

Parsons venerates Brady, but he also wants to be his Kryptonite -- the fictional substance that could even thwart Superman.

“We got to get him out of this league,” said Parsons, the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021. "He has that fire inside of him. He looks to kill you. He wants to step on your throat like you a roach.”

Brady has dominated the Cowboys, winning all six starts against them -- including a 31-29 victory in last year’s opener.

Although the Cowboys lost, Parsons shined in his first game, recording seven tackles, one QB hit and a deflected pass.

This was impressive because the Buccaneers' offensive line had four Pro Bowlers: Ali Marpet, Ryan Jensen, Alex Cappa and Tristan Wirfs. Only Wirfs will play against the Cowboys and Parsons on Sunday.

As a result, Parsons could create a major issue for Brady, which concerns Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles.

“He definitely qualifies as a game-wrecker,” said Bowles recently, per USA Today. “He can blow up runs, he can cover. He does a lot of things, he causes a lot of problems.”
