Cowboys' Micah Parsons Reveals Surprising College Choice

Nick Saban used to be able to name the players he wanted at Alabama and his staff would get them for him. It was rare a player would turn Saban down. Afterall, Saban was winning national championships and had a keen eye for talent and knew how to get the most from it.

He wanted to bring in Micah Parsons for a visit with the intention of having join the Crimson Tide family.

Parsons visited Tuscaloosa, but eventually ended up choosing Penn State. He wanted to stay closer to home. That wasn't the only reason why he turned Saban down, however, as he explained to Derrick Henry.

Henry, who starred as a running back for Alabama, was a guest on The Edge with Micah Parsons and asked the Parsons why he didn't choose Alabama.

Parsons said, "This is the God honest truth" before simply telling Henry that he visited Alabama, but it was "so hot." He added that the conditions were "so treacherous, there's no way in hell I could survive up here."

Henry admitted the weather was hot and sweaty, which at some points in time had him second-guessing his decision. Parsons said he saw the workouts the team would go through and was surprised that was supposed to convince him to move south for college.

Parsons said Alabama takes their program and their games seriously. He said he could see himself becoming a better player under Saban, but he just could not make it under those weather conditions.
