The Dallas Cowboys' run game is going to be an interesting storyline to follow in Oxnard as training camp continues, and with Day 1 in the books, as expected, it was Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders getting the bulk of the carries.

Set to compete for the starting role, along with Jaydon Blue - who could be used sparingly or who could end up starting - Dallas has expressed confidence in the players behind Dak Prescott.

Sanders, a veteran joining a new team, shared his thoughts on being part of a large group. ... as the pecking order is due to be revealed.

"I mean, it is what it is right now," Sanders said. "I'm just blessed to be in this league, seventh year, be able to compete for a spot and just going to see how it goes one day at a time."

As Brian Schottenheimer's first training camp is now underway, the vibes and energy are already noticeable, but what is also noticeable is the leadership qualities on display from the senior guys in the locker room.

“A lot of buy-in with the new head coach, with the change, and you can see what type of respect they had for Schotty," Sanders added. "I'm pretty sure Schotty just wanted guys to show up and just be there.

"Just to have that type of atmosphere and with Dak, CeeDee, Micah, all the guys, even Trey [Diggs], it shows a lot, that's showing that this year is a big year. It's a lot to prove this year throughout everybody, not just one person, just take it one day at a time."

This does feel like a big year, especially after how last season finished, the franchise is turning over a new leaf with Schotty, and the key players are backing him by showing up to not only training camp but also OTAs and minicamp.

So ... is it running back by committee? Does Javonte - who got the most snaps on Day 1 - win the top job? Do the Cowboys need to keep both Sanders and Williams or could a veteran get cut?

For now, the good vibes are flowing, and everyone looks like a Pro Bowler in the Oxnard sun.

And Miles is ready to make his mark with the Cowboys.
