Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: Eagles QB Jalen Hurts 'has really evolved'

Count Cowboys owner Jerry Jones among those who were impressed with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, who had an electric performance in a 24-7 win against the Vikings on "Monday Night Football."

Hurts completed 26-of-31 pass attempts for 333 yards and a touchdown Monday night. He added 57 yards and two scores on the ground.

“Hurts has really evolved,” Jones said Tuesday on KRLD-FM in Dallas. “I was particularly impressed with his passing. I watched every snap. They’re gonna be all we can handle.”

Through two games, Hurts has completed 69.8 percent of his passes and thrown for four touchdowns. He has the NFL's seventh-highest QBR, per ESPN.

The Eagles' offense looks impressive because of Hurts’ improvement. Through the first two games of the season, Philadelphia has the No.1 offense in the NFL, averaging 470.5 yards per game.

The Cowboys (1-1) must figure out their own QB issues if they want keep pace with the Eagles (2-0). The rivals meet on Oct. 16 in Philadelphia and Dec. 24 in Dallas.

Dallas backup QB Cooper Rush played well in the Week 2 win over the Bengals, but he’s inexperienced. Cowboys VP Stephen Jones said starter Dak Prescott--who's recovering from a fractured right thumb--could return as early as Week 4 against the Commanders.
