Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are 3-3-1 through the first seven games of the 2025 NFL season. They are second in the NFC East, behind the 5-2 Philadelphia Eagles, making them a threat to win the division.

The Cowboys have already been active in the trade market over the past few months, sending four-time Pro Bowl EDGE Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. In exchange, they received two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

However, Dallas may now be in a position to add talent. The NFL trade deadline, scheduled for Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. ET, is approaching. The Cowboys have two games before then, against the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals.

In most cases, when the deadline comes around, it's the top teams making the biggest splashes. On Friday, Jones was asked whether the Cowboys would only be making trades if they were Super Bowl contenders.

“I do think this team has a chance to be in competition, so under that criteria, and that’s a good one and that’s all the reason in the world to have your alert sign up," Jones said, according to The Athletic's Jon Machota. "In that case, I do have my eyes open and interest level up.”

That reiterates the 83-year-old owner's previous comments to team reporter Tommy Yarrish, stating that the Cowboys "have ammo," clarifying that a trade to help bolster the defense is possible.

Dallas has been connected to several trade pieces. ESPN's Matt Bowen and Jeremy Fowler named the Cowboys as potential fits for Saints CB Alontae Taylor, Bengals LB Logan Wilson, Titans EDGE Arden Key, Falcons EDGE Arnold Ebiketie and Texans LB Christian Harris.

The Cowboys have $31.43 million in cap space, the second most of any NFL team. Combining that with the two first-round picks from trading away Parsons, Jones is in a position to add talent before the trade deadline.
