Cowboys' Pickens Seeing 'Lamb Effect' On Offense

When the Dallas Cowboys traded for George Pickens, attention immediately shifted to what that meant for CeeDee Lamb.

So often, "the" passing game as the only consistent outlet for Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush last season, Lamb finally has some genuine help in Pickens.

But more than that, both will now not often see double teams due to that, leaving the other one-on-one with a defender, and that is nightmare fuel for a defensive coordinator.

As OTAs have come and gone, and minicamp is underway, George has already seen the effect Lamb has on the defense when he is on the field.

“Most definitely because I played [with] a lot of other receivers, but he plays a little more of everything, so it kind of affects a lot of stuff in a good way," Pickens said.

Part of that is Lamb's versatility.

Able to be lined up out wide, in the slot, and as we saw last season, even at running back or taking jet sweeps, there isn't much CeeDee can't do.

"A lot of guys can't do that like a lot of number one guys just kind of play where the coaches got them playing, but he plays everything."

Pickens also mentioned that the offense has been using a lot of motions pre-snap, something that the Cowboys have, until down, done through gritted teeth.

But not now with Schotty moving everyone around and being "multiple" as he calls it with Pickens and Lamb, the two big chess pieces able to hurt a defense from anywhere.

With CeeDee and George, the new duo in town, the pair is expected to light up defenses for fun with Dak Prescott at the helm, and that will be an interesting watch.

But what will also be is how having Pickens and Lamb on the field together and what that does to a defense.

Because, no matter how good a defense is, they can't cover everyone.
