Cowboys' pregame announcement feels like another gut punch for rookie undergoing challenging Year 1

Ahead of their first game in two full weeks, the Dallas Cowboys announced their inactives for Week 11's Monday Night Football against the Las Vegas Raiders. As always, the list of inactive players was revealed 90 minutes before kickoff.

This one was one without many surprises though one of the most notable developments is that, yet again, the Cowboys are leaving fifth-round rookie Jaydon Blue on the sidelines as a healthy scratch. Blue has struggled with consistency and this will be his sixth game of the season as a healthy scratch.

Last week, the Cowboys even waived RB Malik Davis, which presented intrigue at the position because it meant 1) Dallas' coaching staff was willing to risk him to waivers and 2)There was a chance Blue would see increased playing time. Davis, however, was brought back to the practice squad and is now a gameday elevation. Another week without Blue for most Dallas fans that saw him as an upgrade at RB. It's been a tough Year 1 for the former Texas Longhorn and the roster maneuvering to get Davis back on the field has to sting.

Cowboys' full list of inactives for Week 11 vs. Raiders

  • DT Solomon Thomas
  • RB Jaydon Blue
  • LB Damone Clark
  • CB Trikweze Bridges

Other notes on Cowboys' inactives

  • DT Solomon Thomas was ruled out on the Cowboys' final injury report with a calf injury.
  • Starting safety Malik Hooker, who was listed as questionable on the final injury report, was activated to the 53-man roster and is active.
  • LB DeMarvion Overshown is active as expected and he'll make his 2025 debut after a long and winding rehab. He suffered a gruesome knee injury late in the 2024 NFL season.
  • WR Jonathan Mingo stays a healthy scratch since returning from injury.
  • Rookie OT Ajani Cornelius is not on the list but he was placed on Injured Reserve earlier on Monday.
