Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott hinted rookie running back Deuce Vaughn is a sixth-round steal.
"I'm excited about Deuce being in here," Prescott said Wednesday on KCTK-AM in Dallas via The Dallas Morning News. "I think he's going to be a very talented player who can help us immediately."
Vaughn likely fell in the draft because of his size (5-foot-6, 176 pounds). Nonetheless, he packs an enormous offensive punch. In three seasons at Kansas State, he recorded the second-most yards (4,884) in program history and third-most TDs (43).

Vaughn resembles another undersized Kansas State RB who had a successful NFL career, Darren Sproles. Even though Sproles was 5-foot-6 and 190 pounds, he played for 14 seasons with the Chargers, Saints and Eagles, making three Pro Bowls and the Pro Football Hall of Fame All-2010s Team.
LaDainian Tomlinson, Sproles' teammate from 2005 to 2009, believes Vaughn could become a similar player.
"I think this could be a matchup nightmare out of the backfield," Tomlinson recently said, per NFL Network. "A lot of people are comparing him to Darren Sproles, who was one of the best ever coming out of the backfield, running routes, creating mismatches. I see Deuce Vaughn in the same light."
Vaughn probably won't be a feature back since Dallas has Pro Bowler Tony Pollard, who rushed for 1,007 yards in 16 games last season. But he could be an asset who provides value in the air and ground game.
Regardless, the Cowboys should feel great about the sixth-round pick (No. 212 overall) since their QB and a Hall of Famer think he will make an immediate impact.
