Dak Prescott had a memorable season with the Dallas Cowboys in 2025. In his 10th season with the team, the 32-year-old quarterback led the league in passes completed with 404 in 17 games played. He logged a 67.3% completion rate for 4,552 yards, 30 touchdowns and just 10 interceptions. Prescott also added 177 yards on the ground and two rushing TDs on 53 carries. He was named to the Pro Bowl squad for the fourth time in his career.

Despite Prescott’s strong play, however, the Cowboys still finished with a 7-9-1 record. They missed the NFL playoffs for a second straight season after ranking 12th in the NFC.

Prescott was in attendance for the NFL Honors on Thursday night. The Cowboys star made the trip to the Palace of Fine Arts for the prestigious event after taking part in the Pro Bowl Games in San Francisco two days prior.

Prescott was one of the finalists for AP Comeback Player of the Year. This was his second time being nominated for the award, after being named a finalist in 2021.

Prescott suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in 2024. He tore his right hamstring in Week 9 of that season. He underwent surgery and was ruled out for the rest of the campaign.

Prescott worked hard throughout the offseason to get himself ready to start the 2025 campaign. He showed no ill effects of the injury, producing one of the most memorable seasons of his career.

Unfortunately for Prescott, he lost out on this year’s title again. San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey was named the 2025 AP Comeback Player of the Year.

Much like Prescott, McCaffrey also had a resurgent campaign in 2025. The Niners star was limited to just four games in 2024 due to multiple injuries. He had a big comeback year in 2025, even being named a finalist for the MVP title.

Prescott reportedly received six first-place votes for the Comeback Player of the Year Award. He finished third behind McCaffrey (31 votes) and Aidan Hutchinson of the Detroit Lions (nine votes).

Prescott is now looking forward to a full and healthy offseason with the Cowboys. His goal is to keep his foot on the gas in 2026 to lead Dallas back to the playoffs. The last time the Cowboys won the Super Bowl was in 1996. The organization’s sixth championship has been long overdue.
