Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is continuing to progress in his shoulder-injury rehab and had no issues throwing before Friday's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport (h/t NFL.com).
Rapoport added that all tests on Prescott's shoulder have been good.
Prescott suffered the shoulder injury four days after training camp began this summer. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the sense is there is "zero concern that Prescott's shoulder issue will linger."
The 28-year-old is also working his way back to the lineup after suffering a season-ending ankle injury against the New York Giants last season. He underwent a pair of surgeries to repair a compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle.
In 69 career games, Prescott is 42-27, completing 66% of his passes for 17,634 yards and 106 touchdowns against 40 interceptions. He has also run for 1,314 yards and 24 scores.
The Mississippi State product is a two-time Pro Bowler and was named Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2016.
According to Rapoport, the hope is that Prescott will take part in Dallas' final preseason game on Aug. 29 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Cowboys open the 2021 campaign against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sept. 9.
