Cowboys Receive Exciting Trevon Diggs News Before Bears Game

The Dallas Cowboys won a miraculous game against the New York Giants last week, evening their record at 1–1. The Cowboys will look to win back-to-back games against Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears in Week 3.

The Bears’ offense has not impressed this season under new head coach Ben Johnson, giving the Cowboys’ defense a chance to get back on track under their new defensive coordinator, Matt Eberflus. The Cowboys allowed 24 points against the Philadelphia Eagles in the opening week, and it got worse when Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers torched the Cowboys’ secondary last week, forcing the game into overtime.

If the Cowboys want to get back on track, the availability of one of the team’s defensive stars, Trevon Diggs, will be incredibly important. Diggs was recently added to the injury report on Saturday with a right knee injury, raising concern that the team’s struggling secondary could suffer another blow.

Fortunately, that will not be the case, as Diggs will suit up on Sunday. An update emerged that after going through a 25-minute workout before pregame warmups, his knee seemingly feels good enough to play (per ESPN’s Todd Archer).

This is an exciting development for Dallas, as Diggs will likely be tasked with shutting down both Rome Odunze and D.J. Moore. Diggs is in his sixth season with the Cowboys, after being selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Since then, the 27-year-old cornerback has been an All-Pro, earned two Pro Bowl selections, and led the NFL in interceptions with 11 in 2021. With Diggs available, the Cowboys will have a greater chance of bouncing back after allowing 37 points last week.
